Spotting fake group owners before you pay

A handful of signals separate a legitimate group owner from a scam listing. Slow down at checkout.

Seatkin verifies every owner with KYC, but no platform catches every bad actor on day one. These are the patterns our trust team sees most often. ## Red flags on the listing A brand-new account with zero reviews, a price significantly under the rest of the market for the same tool, and a generic group name with no description. Any two of these and you should wait or ask in chat. ## Red flags in chat The owner refuses to confirm renewal dates in writing. The owner asks you to pay outside Seatkin "to save the fee". The owner cannot answer basic questions about the plan they claim to host. ## What to do If anything feels off, do not pay. Ask the owner to message you a screenshot of the tool's admin page with the date visible. Most legitimate owners do this without complaint. If they refuse, walk away and report the listing. Trust is built one small confirmation at a time.
