Running a Spotify Family that actually lasts

Spotify Family looks simple until it is not. Three rules that keep a six-person group running for years.

Spotify Family is the most-listed tool on Seatkin and the easiest to run badly. Here are the three rules from owners whose groups have been stable for more than a year. ## Rule 1: One country, one billing currency Spotify ties the plan to the owner's country. If members live across borders, the address mismatch warning will eventually trigger and Spotify will downgrade everyone to free. Pick a country and stick to it. ## Rule 2: Treat the address book as the source of truth Members register the same email on Spotify that they used on Seatkin. When someone leaves the group, remove them from the Spotify Family page within twenty-four hours. Otherwise you cannot add their replacement. ## Rule 3: Renewal a week before, not the day of Spotify renews automatically. Owners should send a reminder in Seatkin chat one week ahead so members can confirm they are staying. It avoids the mid-month "wait who is paying" panic. Boring, predictable, repeatable. That is what makes a group last.
