Notion Team vs Business: which to share

Both plans are splittable, but the seat economics and access controls are very different. A short decision guide.

Notion has two paid tiers that work for a Seatkin group: Team and Business. They look similar on the pricing page and play very differently in a shared workspace. ## Team Cheaper per seat. Unlimited blocks, version history capped at thirty days, no SAML. Good for a group of four to six members running personal projects, side businesses, or a small studio. The owner controls page permissions. ## Business Roughly twice the per-seat cost. Adds private team spaces, longer version history, and bulk page export. The big change is access control: the owner can carve out a Business workspace where seat members cannot see each other's pages by default. Useful if your members are mutually anonymous. ## Our recommendation Default to Team for groups under six members who already know each other. Step up to Business only when the privacy boundary actually matters — for example, when joiners are independent freelancers. Both plans split cleanly. Just pick the right one before you list.
